I have a German friend who lives here permanently now. She adopted her 3 year old daughter from Chicago when she was a baby. She has now gone back there to adopt another baby.
What got me is that they kept saying she was adopting an orphan, but it turns out the boy has a father and grandparents. But they were willing to give him up to give him a life they couldn't provide. That makes me so sad when you think of him having a loving family but it not being enough.
P.S.: The letters I have to put in at the bottom read "tabtuls". Now read that backwards.
