Cali. Tour "07, Part 1

The last 3 weeks were spent back in California with the Stockwell grandparents. We also took a wee weekend jaunt up to the Bay Area to catch up with friends. Thanks to Helen and Norm for a really lovely time and to all the Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends for all the fun :) You all make it difficult to go home. Pics of some of the hijinks.

FAMILY

We arrived in time for Easter. Helen displays some of the children's creations. They decorated 48 eggs... all of which were eaten.

Anna and some of Toby (that was his get up for the whole vacation).

Sue, Nick and Walter join us at the local park stylishly.

Allie at the park.

Norm and Walter at the park.

When not at the park, wee boys like to play in dirt mounds in the front yard....

.... or puddles in the back yard.

Cousins- Toby, Anna, Wini, Brendan, Allie, Drew.

Allie and Toby attached to Drew....

Uncle Randy's super cool, giant truck. Allie was in awe of it and all the others we saw on the freeways.

Walter's childhood BF, Sean and his fiancee Veronica. Congratulations to them both :)

Bluff Cove is a bay in Palos Verdes (south of Redondo Beach) where Walter and his family used to come and fly radio controlled planes. The cliffs are really yellow, and the beach is covered in grey, blue and black rocks. A perfect trip for some of the family.

Some quiet moments.
Tobe and Anna.

Happy is reading with the G'Parents.

Grandma making it better.

Walter taught Allie checkers. Allie decided to spice it up with a new move (taking a piece in a straight line) and called that 'chuckers'.

BERKELEY

Walter and Matt Small.

Allie had a lovely time with Martin.

The boys fell for Kate :)

Helen and Elliott (15 months).

Elliott's daddy, Jon, can do back flips off a swing...

Jennifer, Eloise (2 months) and Matt Bear.

It's all about the bubbas.

THE BEACH

I love the beach!

We happened across a wedding one day.

Our last visit to the beach turned out to be quite exciting. Helen found a seastar floating in the water. It's skin was hard, bumpy and very colourful.

The towels in this pic are ours! I turned my back for a second and a sealion was making a beeline for them. The coast guard shortly followed to put up a sign saying "leave this animal be." or something like it. He said we were stressing the sealion, and Helen rightly pointed out that it had rather stessed us...

More pics to come...
